This is rather different when it comes to lamps the 2 telescopic stands are actually conductors as there is no cables going to the top so I would suggest not placing metal objects across them whilst it is in operation.

Highly collectable because these lamps were actually thought to be able to electrocute someone or even start a house fire. This is nonsense but I believe IKEA in their wisdom ceased production this makes this lamp such a collectors bargain.
